Standing up!
William starting pulling himself using this activity block several weeks ago. It scares me because I'm afraid that we are going to have an early walker!

Raccoons!
The Miller household has a raccoon issue! We had another visit from our friend the other day. This visit was different because we actually knew he was here. He was super loud! The issue is not over but he is gone for the time being.
This is how Mr. Raccoon got into our house. He ripped the vent off and then broke the fan inside it.
Mike screwed the attic door shut because he saw Mr. Raccoon looking into 'Miller Bar.'
Last summer, Mike and I went to France for our vacation. On this vacation, we realized that our lives would never be the same. We discovered that we were pregnant on our first morning in Paris. We didn't get to go back to Paris this summer so Mike brought a little of Paris to our house. He made us crepes. Someday we will make crepes for William and tell him why they are so special to us.

Mr. Raccoon was actually stuck in our attic. He used to get in through a hole in the chimney but we patched that up a month ago. He finally figured a way into our house but couldn't get out the way he got in. We had a really noisy night because he was freaking out since he was trapped. He finally figured a way out though!
William is growing and changing everyday. I have had the best time with him this summer. It's been such an amazing, learning experience. I'm sad about having to leave him to go back to work but I know it's something that I have to do. The thing that will keep me going is the knowledge that May 31st (the last day of school) will soon be here! Then, William and I will have another amazing summer!
He is sitting up (for a little bit at least)!

A tooth!
August 3, 2011- William gets his first tooth!
We still have a lot of junk to get rid of but Miller Bar/ Office/ Gym/ Playroom is coming along. I love this mat for William to play on.
He likes to rip up the floor though!
This is Adam and William when Adam was first born. There are 6 weeks between the two. We were thinking that William was a giant compared to Adam.
Four months later and Adam is passing William up. Look at the legs on the guy!
No more shopping in the carrier! William loved sitting in the cart with this cover. When he got tired, he just leaned to the side and relaxed. This made shopping a lot easier.
Michigan Vacation!
Our family vacation this summer was to Michigan. It was a perfect combination of friends, family, and alone time. We started off bright and early flying to Michigan. William did awesome!
Our first stop was at Mullet Lake. A huge thank you goes out to Cathy and Price for allowing us to intrude on your week at the cottage. We had a great time!
William is a talker! He talks the most in the car for some reason.
Great Wolf Lodge!
The three of us got to spend a night in Leland, Michigan. William was able to put his feet in Lake Michigan.
While we were on vacation, William turned 5 months! So it was time for rice cereal.
We also have tons of pictures so I have been trying to figure out how to put a slideshow on here.

Summer Fun!
We kind of have a schedule. I more or less just go off of his cues. I think it will be awhile before I say that he naps at certain times. William has been taking naps in his own room but they usually only last for about 45 minutes. However, he fell asleep in the stroller on the way back from our morning trip to the pool so I just moved him to our bed. His nap lasted for 2 hours! I thought he looked cute sleeping with his thumb in his mouth so I had to take a picture.
Mike has finally come to terms with letting 'Miller Bar' go. It will now be a study/ play/ workout room. He took the pool table apart and put it into the attic. We haven't set it up yet but I have several plans. I'm not sure if they will all be allowed though. However, I did order a play mat for William. The teacher in me got really excited about this mat. Not only does it show kids capital and lower case letters but they come out. So, it's kind of like a big puzzle! The mat is in our living room right now but it will be moved to 'Miller Playroom' soon. To make the mat even better, it was only 35 dollars. I really want to order another one but Mike said no. I ordered it from www.getrung.com.
Thanks again for the activity cube, Neely! William loves it.
We definitely have a thumb sucker on our hands. I had to take a picture of this because he took out his pacifier so he could suck on his thumb.
I'm trying to learn about all of the things that are offered in our neighborhood. So, we walked to the library yesterday. I signed up for a library card and looked around at all of the things they have. I'm looking forward to going to "story time" for babies every Friday. We missed it today but hopefully we go in the future.
On Sunday morning, my parents heard something walking around in the attic. We were thinking that maybe we had a rat up there. So, Mike went out right away and bought a rat trap. On Sunday night, we discovered what was in our attic. We saw 3 raccoons on our roof. I'm really grossed out! We have a guy trying to catch them now.

Loving Life
Summer has been amazing so far. I love that I am able to stay at home with him everyday. I've learned a lot of new songs and nursery rhymes so far. My goal for the summer is just to learn as much as I can.
While I was getting dinner ready, Mike was trying to get William ready to take a nap. I looked over at Mike reading to William and thought about how lucky I am to have Mike as my husband and father to my child. He was reading a book to him but he changed his strategy. I'm sure Mike will brag to William later on in life (after he is 21) that he used to sing him to sleep with "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall." Needless to say, this song did not put William to sleep.
William kicks like crazy when he gets excited.
My mom and I went to Houston for the night so we could go to a baby shower. We visited Kehma. William didn't last long during dinner. However, he was able to experience fireworks for the first time on this night. He didn't get scared at all. I was very proud of him.
On Saturday night, Brian, Kim, my mom, Mike and I went to The Melting Pot. The place was awesome. Luckily the other table in our room had an infant too. I did have a blanket for him but you will have to ask Kim what happened to that.
On Monday, Mike and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary. Thank you again for the beautiful flowers, Mike!
Well, our lovely condo has leaked again! Luckily, insurance is supposed to pay for it this time.

A few days ago I had to capture this cute sight. On this particular day, Mike continued to read a book to William and he feel asleep. You saw earlier what happens when Mike changes the routine.

Summer Schedule
Today was the first day of trying to get William on a schedule. He has done awesome with it so far. He is still sleeping in his pack n' play in our room at night but napping in his crib during the day. Actually, he is still in his crib right now. I'm sitting here listening to the monitor and waiting for him to wake up so I can bring him into our room. Yes, moving him over to his room will probably be much harder on me than it is on William.
Of course, Mike took these pictures!
Sunday Family Trip to the Pool
We walked to our community pool so William fell asleep on the way. He got in a nice little nap before he enjoyed the pool.

Busy Saturday!
Today was great! We started the day by driving out to the Adragna's place in order to have breakfast with friends and to see baby Anthony. In a year from now, Ethan, William, and Anthony are going to be having tons of fun together. However, today was calm for the boys. Ethan was practicing walking! William played with daddy. Anthony was sleeping like baby in his crib.
Then, we went over to Brian's house for a crawfish boil. Food was awesome! Thanks Brian!
William relaxing on Brian's couches.

Since I have been home with William for a whole week now, I realized that I need to figure out what our daily schedule is going to look like. I'm going to try to make sure that we get out of the house everyday so I signed us up for our community pool and rec center. Several days a week, our pool holds a mom and tots hour. The only pool allowed in the pool during that hour are parents with kids under the age of 5. I hope to end my walk with a trip to the pool several times this summer. We visited the pool on Friday and William did great! We stayed in the kid pool. It is perfect because he can stand up and enjoy the pool.
Here are a couple of Mike's videos.

Summer Break!
School is out! That means that William is staying home with me. We have had fun these last few days. Here are some pictures that we have taken lately.
Helping daddy hang up the blinds in the bar.
Going for a walk with Grandma Miller
Three generations of Miller boys in Spartan gear.
I've discovered my feet!
Getting ready to go swimming at Nana and Papa's house.
First time swimming!
Got our school pictures back. William already does his daddy's Zoolander look!
William at daycare
Enjoying the sprinkler pool with his cousins on Memorial Day weekend!
Watching the sunset over Lake Travis.
Cousin Drew's birthday party!
Splashing around at bath time!
William is able to roll over now but this is how he started. Mike realized that he really likes to look at the planes hanging up in his room. So, he put William in his crib to see what he would do.
