Katie is 2 weeks old!

How time flies!  Today we took Katie to her 2 week appointment.  She has passed up her birth weight and now weighs 8 lbs 7 oz.

5/29/14- 2 Week Check-Up
Weight: 8 lbs 7.2 oz (75%)
Height: 21in. (75%)
Head Circumference: 36 cm. (75%)

Katie had her first bottle tonight!  She downed 3 ounces!  Daddy paid attention the entire time this time!

Luckily, we got some rain this week!  Monday was Memorial Day so we made brats on the grill.  Thankfully, Mike and Steve went out into the rain to grill them for us!  Of course, William and Wade had to join in the fun of going out in the rain.

We are going through diapers like crazy!  I am ready to start using our cloth diapers but I don't think Katie is big enough yet.  Since I have never cloth diapered a newborn, there will definitely be some experimenting.  She has developed a diaper rash so we will wait a few days and try the cloth diapers again.

I thought she looked so cute in the huge diaper!

First bath!

The boys had to see what was going on!

Katherine Elizabeth!

Katherine Elizabeth Miller arrived on May 15, 2014 at 3:30 pm.  Oddly enough, each labor and delivery story of mine are fairly similar.  We woke up, called the doctor, and went to the hospital around 7 am.  Then each child was born around the same time too.  Wade and Katie were born at 3:30 and William was born at 4:00 pm.  On the morning of the 15th, I rolled over in bed and could feel that my water had broken.  After getting up, there was no denying it.  Luckily, my mom had come up the day before so she was able to stay with the boys and allow us to leave right away for the hospital.  The day moved by rather slowly and painfree until they started the Pitocin around noon.  The pain intensified very quickly but I ended up having to wait another hour and a half for the epidural.  It was not fun!  All morning I had been talking with the nurses and Mike and texting my friends but all of that stopped after starting Pitocin.  Once I finally got the epidural, my blood pressure dropped to 70 / 40 at one point so the nurses had to give me more stuff to get my blood pressure under control.  Finally, around 2:30 I told the nurse that I was feeling a lot of pressure and I thought she was ready to come out.  Of course, I had to wait again.  Around 3:30, the nurse wanted me to try one push so she could see where she was.  She then called the doctor who must have been standing outside my door.  When Dr. Wang got set up, I pushed 3 times and she was out.
She likes making faces!

The boys were excited to hold sister!

I fell!  This is the thing that I had to ride from the bathroom to the hospital bed.  About an hour after Katie and born, the nurse was helping me to the restroom.  Right when I stepped into the restroom my right leg gave out and I went straight to my knee.  Luckily, I only felt dumb and I wasn't hurt at all.

On the way in the G35!

Then there were 3 of them!

Luckily, Wade tried out Katie's bouncer first and learned that the seat was not buckled!

39 Weeks Today!

I am officially 39 weeks today!  She is still moving like crazy!

We were supposed to go to the park today but it started raining right when we were about to leave.  I thought about taking them to the mall or a bounce place but decided against getting the boys out in the rain.  They were not happy at first but playing in the rice helped a little.

Yesterday, Mike got a few more things put together for baby Katie.

Her swing.

Her carseat with new cover.

Mother's Day weekend ended perfectly.  We went to church in the morning then came home to relax for the rest of the day.  Mike grilled steaks and lobster and cleaned while the rest of us took a nap!  After naps and dinner, Mike took the boys outside to play with the other cul-de-sac kids.  I eventually went outside to talk to the other parents too.  I love watching all of the kids running around together and playing.  Growing up on our street should be a lot of fun for all of the kids.  It's going to be even more fun for me to watch!

Last Thursday night, we got a bad storm.  It hit right as we were putting the boys to sleep. It didn't take long to realize that the boys were not going to go to sleep with the storm being so loud.  I didn't blame them either!  We took them downstairs and let them watch a show.  By the time "Paw Patrol" was over, the storm had died down and the boys went to sleep.  The next morning we saw this outside!  It is a huge China Berry tree.  We had just been admiring it because it just bloomed.  Unfortunately, this tree was not the only one to fall.  A few trees fell down and others had huge branches break off.  Luckily, the HOA will be taking care of this tree and clearing it this week.  It's sad but also really cool to see!

Then we went to Baby Earth for story time.

Getting bubbles!

Then the kids got to play with a few toys..

Mother's Day Weekend

This week William's school had a Dessert with Mom in order to celebrate Mother's Day!  He gave me a card with his hand print, a decorated flower pot, and this card.  I had to laugh when I saw that he said that he loves me because I vacuum.  I was not surprised though.  He loves when I vacuum.  He tells me that the vacuum gives him energy and he runs around like a wild man.

Today, we went to Lily Pate's birthday party.  It was a farm animal party.  I didn't think William was going to enjoy it at all but he did awesome.  Once he saw Anthony going into the animal area, he went too.  He did a great job feeding the animals too.  Wade was super cute to watch too.  After a while the animals got full and did not want to eat much.  He kept on trying his hardest to feed the goats though.  He would also just sit still and watch the little animals.  It was a great party!

When we got home, Mike took the boys in the bike trailer and I went to visit Audrey and Maren at the hospital.  Maren and Katie should only be a few days apart.  It was kind of crazy to think that I will be at the same hospital with a little girl in a matter of days.

For dinner tonight, Mike picked up shrimp and pizza from HEB to eat at the pool.  Today was our first trip to the pool for the year.  We probably won't be able to go as often as we did last summer but we will have to make as many trips as we can.  The boys enjoyed it but didn't last long because they got cold.  On the way back, we walked on the Oak Brook trail in order to see all of the trees that fell down in the storm the other night.  I'm still shocked at all of the trees that were knocked over!

Wade and I made a trip to the mall a couple of weeks ago.  He enjoyed playing on the machines!

Last weekend, the boys and I went to Safari Champ for a special event benefitting Any Baby Can.  Cheryl Carey and Taste and See Healthy Baby Food put this event on with Any Baby Can in order to raise money to give 75 mothers of special needs children a Mother's Day card and gift card.  The event raised enough money to give 58 mothers a 25 dollar gift certificate.  As I sat there watching the boys, it made me appreciate how lucky I am to have healthy kids.

A little mishap that happened while we were there though is when Wade decided to hug a little girl and then tackle her while in the area by the top of the slide.  I tried to run up the slide to rescue the little girl but I couldn't do it since I am 9 months pregnant!  Luckily, the little girl was finally able to free herself!

Trying to stay home!

I am 38 weeks today!  This past week, I have tried to stay home a little more.  These boys aren't going to know what to do when we have to stay home.  We went to Babies R Us and I bought a couple of more little pools.  I used to put William in a little pool and allow him to do sensory activities but haven't done it in a long time.  I don't think Wade has ever done a sensory bucket activity.  Of course, William used to just throw the rice out of the pool so it still made a mess.  We shall see how the do!

The boys playing with rice and measuring tools.

Wade trying super hard to stomp on the rocket so it will shoot up.

Last Thursday, Wade and I went to the puppet show at the Round Rock Library.

Then, we went to hang out at the mall.

On Friday, the boys and I went to Jumpoline.  Wade has to try everything he sees William doing so here he is climbing up the padding.

Wade climbing again!

Then we went to get William's hair cut and to have lunch with daddy at Chick-fil-a.

We are redecorating William's room.  Since going into stores is a little difficult right now, I have started ordering thing online.
