We have started the search for new bedroom furniture for the boys. When Wade turns 2, we plan on moving him into William's room. It shall be an interesting transition!
How could I not take a picture of this cute face!
William enjoyed playing on this bed. I told him that it was a girls bed though so we couldn't get it. Of course, he looked at the picture and said, "No, mama! There is a boy bed too!"
I looked closer and sure enough there was a boy bed.
Ok, let's try this again! I had this post almost completed yesterday but I walked away from the computer for it a little bit and it died and erased everything!
Wade working on his 3rd breakfast of the morning! Cereal with daddy. Waffles with brother. Oatmeal with momma.
Since we were going to Corpus for a few days, I wanted to get Wade's ears checked out before we left. Unfortunately, he doesn't really give us a clue that he has an ear infection. The only signs of an ear infection that Wade gives us is waking up more at night and being a little fussy. However, his gums have been swollen for a couple of months so it could also be teething causing these problems. In this video, he is crying video because we had just gotten back to the room and he remembered that he gets a lollipop at the doctor's office. He kept saying lollipop and trying to leave the room to get one!
I told William that we would go to Chick-fila for lunch if he is good at Wade's appointment. He is usually pretty good and appointments but I guess I feel justified getting fast food for lunch with the excuse! It was nice because we got to meet Mike for lunch!
I traded the kids meal prize for an ice cream cone for the boys. I believe this was William's first ice cream cone! He didn't eat all of it but had fun taking small licks. Of course, Wade was a pro!
On Wednesday night, we drove down to Corpus Christi. It was a fun little trip and we got to do a few new things while down there.
On Thursday, my mom and I took the boys to the aquarium (which was super packed) and to the Seawall for lunch. It was difficult to get the boys to eat because they were ready to play in the sand.
Nana sitting on the seawall while Wade played in the sand.
Of course, William tipped his chair over and fell into a puddle of water. I had to take off his shirt because it was so wet. In order to get into the car, we had to strip both of the boys down to their diaper/underwear because they were so wet and sandy. Next time, we will have to go down there better prepared!
On Friday, we had a fun trip out to Port Aransas! First, we made a quick trip to the beach and had a small lunch. Wade was asleep in the car so he didn't get to enjoy the sand with William.
Then, we went on a Dolphin Watch! I loved it! I went on a similar boat with my mom's school my senior year of high school. I had been telling my mom that I wanted to take the boys and it all worked perfectly. Hopefully, we can make this a yearly thing!
Wade happily eats a lollipop!
Mike and I got to have a date night! My stuffed flounder at Katz 21 was delicious.
On Saturday, we made a trip to the shop so Papa can check out my car.
Mike entertained the boys on the golf cart.
Wade enjoyed driving.
The boys playing in Papa's racecar! I don't think William has ever actually gotten in the car. Wade jumped right in so it gave William the courage to get in too.
Back in Austin!
Wade having his follow up appointment with his ENT, Dr. Thompson. Nothing was really established though! He said that there was fluid behind his ear but we should wait to see what happens.
The boys watching Mike use the blow to blow all of the leaves off of the back porch. It's crazy how many leaves are on our back porch. Evidently, oak tress lose their leaves in the Spring.
Since William has been riding his bike more often, Mike wanted to get him his own helmet. He already has 2 but neither fit him anymore. He has been wearing Mike's helmet! Unfortunately, my just turned 3 year old has to wear a helmet for 8 year olds and up!
After walking down the stairs with me, Wade pushed me away because he wanted to play with the gate. I was trying to make dinner so I allowed it. A couple of minutes later, he screamed! He had stood on the swing and it swung out with him on it. He would go back and forth from laughing and crying so I felt it was ok to take a picture of him. Hopefully he has learned his lesson.
Since we joined a CSA a few months ago, we get a lot of things that I would NEVER buy on my own. However thanks to Pinterest, I have been able to find good ways to cook them. I had to take a picture of my first time to make Collard Greens. I really liked them and Mike approved too!
While visiting the pond, William said "Where's Nana's turtle?" My mom brought a turtle that she found in her pool up here this past summer. She didn't know what to do with it in Corpus so I told her she could bring it up here to release. It's crazy what kids are able to remember.

Jump Street
Mike loved Big Bird when he was younger. His mom brought down Mike's Big Bird floor puzzle.
We started Tot- Smarts in January of 2013. We used to drive to a church by the Y at Oak Hill every Wednesday to attend the class. William used to run around and not really pay attention at all. We usually stopped at the Downtown Children's Museum on the way home so it was always a fun adventure. Then, the class moved to the North West Rec Center on 2222. We usually packed our lunch and played at the playground at the Rec Center after class. We made several friends by doing this including Violet who we still hang out with. 14 months into the class, William sits and completes the activities. Since Anuva is pregnant with twins, she will no longer hold the class though. At William's last class session, he was the last one sitting at the table. I finally allowed him to use scissors so he loved it.
It's been a long time since we have been to Jumpoline so I thought Wade needed to experience it. I don't think Wade has been to Jumpoline since he started walking. He wasn't exactly able to "jump" and he didn't like the train bounce house but it was a good time. William knew exactly what to do and had a blast!
The boys jumping!
Riding the little train. Wade spent most of the time climbing on the train and boat.
William hanging with the bigger kids. Luckily, they were super nice and let him jump with them.
The boys had a grilled cheese sandwich and green beans for lunch. Of course, William ate all of his green beans (I had put more on his plate) and only half of his sandwich. After he got up, I could see Wade eyeing his sandwich because he had already finished his sandwich. I grabbed my camera and caught Wade stealing the rest of William's sandwich!
I think the best part is when Wade tries to put William's sandwich back like he wasn't trying to eat it.
When I discovered that I was pregnant with our 3rd child, I knew needed to start the potty training process with William or we were going to have 3 in diapers. Being a SAHM, I often see kids in cloth diapers and had kind of considered it before William was born. I decided against it because it would not really have been possible with me working and William going to day care. I figured that I would try to learn a little more though. I read an e-book, went to a cloth diaper session at Toybrary, and watched several videos on YouTube. At Toybrary a girl told me that she was mainly looking on Craigslist for diapers since cloth diapers are so experience. I ordered brand new diapers from BumGenius and bought some off of Craigslist to start our collection. I quickly realized that all of the diapers were about the same so I decided to stick with Craigslist. Lately, I have been looking for more diapers since we will have another baby in the house. This week, I found a huge "cloth diaper lot" for sale for next to nothing. I decided that I might as well buy all of them. Therefore, I have completed our cloth diaper collection and will not have to look for anymore diapers!
Line drying the inserts,
Our bathtub has turned into a the location to line dry the pocket diapers.
I probably needed about 10 more diapers but I just bought 29 diapers more. We have plenty of diapers now!
William and Mike practicing on his new big boy bike! We will go back and forth from the balance bike to this bike until he is able to ride the real bike all by himself.
