It's Fall!

We are enjoying this cooler water!  I got to walk William to school and walk to pick him up.  Hopefully we I can do that for a while before it gets cold.  Katie got to swing for the first time outside.  Wade wasn't really happy to see her in "his" swing though.  I think he decided that he was going to take over her inside swing to get her back.

On Friday night, the cul-de-sac kids came to play in our backyard.  It was a last minute get together that was a lot of fun.  The kids got to play on the playscape and jump in the bounce house while the adults got to talk.

Friday morning, Wade gave me a scare!  He choked on a granola bar.  He coughed so hard that it created the red dots on his face again.  This happens every time he throws up.  Poor Wade!

Jamming at the Thinkery!  Yes, the are singing Paw Patrol.

I grabbed my phone because William had just said, "Wade, you kick me and then I will kick you!"  I quickly jumped in and said "No!"  Luckily, Wade did not get kicked.

Wade!

Wade Andrew Miller:  You are now 2 years old!  You make me laugh everyday and like to tell us that you are the boss!  You more or less can say everything or you at least try.  I always have to keep my eye on you because you are often causing trouble if you think no one is looking.  You still love your pacifier and playing with my hair.  In order to get you to bed every night, I lay next to you in bed and let you play with my hair until you have asleep.  One night, I was just laying in bed with you and started just looking at the sweet boy laying next to me.  Well, you barely opened your eyes and saw me looking at you (I'm usually looking down at my kindle).  Right then, you  reached over and grabbed my nose and pretended to eat it.  So you even make us laugh in your sleep!  You have recently started sleeping through the night!

Pictures that I got of the boys with their "big brother" shirts on shortly after we found out that Katie was going to join our family.  Wade didn't want to take the pictures so I had to keep feeding him pancakes.  You can see the tears in his eyes though!

I love that the boys have each other!

Wade is fearless.  He was ready to feed all of the animals!

Sweet brothers!  William didn't move his arm so he didn't wake Wade up.

I love this picture!

Having a discussion with the big fish!

Wade has fallen asleep in the high chair several times. Wade literally goes until he drops!

I don't know how to straighten the picture but it's a picture of my dad when he was little.  I definitely see my dad in Wade!  We know who he got his blonde hair from!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Wade!

Wade turned 2 today!  We had a fun and full day.  We started the morning by opening some presents and making animal waffles (some with chocolate chips) for breakfast.  His favorite present were the balloons though.  William was also really sweet during the opening presents portion of the day and put his arm around Wade and said "it's our birthday!"  Of course, William is sleeping with one of Wade's presents tonight.  Then we spent the morning in the backyard playing with the bounce house and Wade's new Jack and the Neverland Pirate bubble boat.  Katie got into the bounce house for the first time and she really enjoyed it.

We made a pizza with a number 2 on it for lunch. We also went to Olivia's house today so Wade had Happy Birthday sang to him for the first time there.  He loved it and clapped after we sang to him!

We came home for a quick nap then went to Chuck E Cheese for dinner.  Uncle Brian and Aunt Kim joined us for the fun evening!

This sums up how Wade played games all night!

3 Birthday Parties!

On Saturday, we had 3 birthday parties!  We had a fun day going to the Wells Branch park for Greyson and Colin's birthday. Then driving to Locomotion Inflatable Play in South Austin for Korbin's birthday party (my cousin Aaron's little boy).  Last, we came back to North Austin to Kiddie Acres for Claire's party.  Mike and I were exhausted by the end of the day!

This week was interesting!  William came down with a fever on Tuesday so we were stuck at home all week. Considering the circumstances, it was a good week.

Tuesday night.  This is how William spent most of his time when he wasn't feeling good.  On Tuesday night a storm blew in and we had 2 extra guests in our bed.  First, Wade came down at 12:30 when it was lightning and raining really bad outside.  It's crazy to wake up and see Wade's little head by the bed or climbing up at the end of the bed.  Mike took him back to his room at 4:30 when the rain was long gone but William headed down at 5:30.  Wade had snuggled up to Mike all night and then William kicked Mike for the rest of the night.  I don't think Mike slept very well!

Since we were at home more, we realized that our new coffee table can be used as a train table.  The boys walked around this table a thousand times this week!

Wade playing Hide and Seek.  I love how William and Wade can sit, play, and have a whole conversation.  Since they do this, William can understand Wade a lot better than we can.  We sometimes have to ask William for help.

Since William had a fever for a couple of days, I took William to the doctor on Thursday morning.  Oh, the adventure was fun!  We were running late for the appointment because I made a delivery to the milk bank before we went to the doctor.  Traffic was crazy at 9:30am!  Thank God I don't have to drive in this Austin traffic on a daily basis anymore.  First off, William would not get out of the car.  I had to carry Katie and Wade into the doctor's office and ask a nurse to watch them while I went back out for William.  Luckily, he came in without a fight but he was scared on top of feeling bad.  Then, Katie had a HUGE blowout while I was talking to the nurse.  I didn't take a wet bag with me so I had to ask the doctor for a thrash bag for the poop filled diaper and clothes.  I realized that Katie's extra clothes were in the other diaper bag that I had recently used so Katie had to come home just in a diaper.  Thank goodness I had a blanket.  If things couldn't get worse, Wade would not walk to the car!  I was worn out after this doctor's visit so I rewarded myself with a milk shake on the way home (that Wade mostly drank)!

William wanted to pull out the bed and watch a show.

This activity lasted a whole 5 minutes!  Wade was really proud of himself and kept saying "I did it!"

Old pictures that I'm not sure if I have posted before:

Since school is back in session and Katie is a little older, I'm trying to get a weekly schedule going.
  • Monday: We will stay home in the morning so I can clean and get some laundry done.  Then we will head over to Olivia's house at 1:00 pm for my bible study group.
  • Tuesday:  William goes to school.  Wade, Katie, and I meet with the church playgroup at St. Vincent de Paul.  We also usually try to make a check trip to HEB too.
  • Wednesday:  Adventure Day- I will try to go to the Thinkery every week unless something else comes up.
  • Thursday:  William goes to school.  Wade, Katie, and I will go to the park or do some other field trip.
  • Friday:  Plan on staying home and enjoying our backyard and toys!

September 15, 2014

Katie:  You rolled over today!  You have only rolled from your front to back a few times but today you rolled from your back to front 3 times.  It was exciting to see and Wade was your biggest cheerleader.  You are chewing on everything that you can get your hands on.  I would guess that you will get a tooth soon but it seems too early.  William got his first tooth at 6 months and Wade at 7 months.  You are also doing an awesome job sleeping at night.  I started giving you a quick bath in the sink almost every night as part of our nightly routine.  The last few nights you have been sleeping until 6 am.  As of right now, you are the best sleeper in the house.  I pray that you stay that way!

4 month check-up:
  • Weight: 14lbs 10oz (70%)
  • Height: 25in. (75%)
  • Head: 42cm. (90%)

William:  You amaze me everyday!  I love what a great big brother you are (most of the time).  Almost daily you still lay by your sister and rub your head while you suck your thumb.  You and Wade are actually playing together more and more everyday too.  Of course, this means that the fighting has increased a little too.  More often than not, it is Wade though!  You definitely play the protective big brother role.  You tell on Wade if he is doing something wrong and talk to Katie if she is upset.  One time you even hit Wade because he was taking something from someone else.  Your vocabulary is also increasing.  You asked Nana to help you climb a tree the other day and then told her that you were afraid of heights when you got up in the tree.  We can thank Dusty for teaching you the "afraid of heights" phrase.  You still are using "poo poo diapers" though!  Hopefully one day you will stop.

So I can't get this little guy to go down for a nap when William goes to sleep.  William has always been pretty good about laying in bed and going to sleep.  Not Wade though!  I finally realized that in order to get him to go to sleep I have to sit with him on the couch and watch a show.  Then I'm able to carry him up to his bed.

He had to copy Katie after she got done doing her tummy time.  Of course he hit his head on the block while doing this so he gave himself another bruise on his head.

Got Wade to nap!

The boys playing!  Do you see a little body in that hamper?

Silly boys while eating a snack before bedtime!

I have started to walk William to school in the morning.  It's definitely a good workout!

Fun Weekend!

Our first trip to the Thinkery!
Since school has started and Katie is 3 months old, I thought it was time to make our first trip to the Thinkery.  The day went really well and was a lot of fun.

Luckily they waited until after we ate lunch to actually get in the water.  When they were done, I took them soaking wet to the car and stripped them down for the ride home.

Shooting airplanes!
While William was at school, Wade, Katie, and I went to the library and aquarium.  We got to join in a Music Together class at the library.  Hopefully one day we can sign up for a session!  Then we were off to the aquarium!

Talking to a bird!

Wade stealing my pizza after our trip to Costco!  He had already eaten most of his hot dog and his half of slice of pizza but he still went after my pizza!

Mike had to kill this spider in our garage this weekend!

Preschool

William started in the 3 year old class today!  He did great at drop off and his teacher said he was perfect today.  When we were walking to the car after school, I asked him what he did at school.  He replied, "I made friends!"
