A few months ago, our neighbors started "First Friday" for our cul-de-sac. They grilled some hot dogs and hamburgers and other people brought other little things and we all hung out. All of the kids were put to bed at a decent hour and the adults stayed outside to have a "few" drinks. The second month was a great time but I think it is safe to say that the kids had the most fun this month. Let's just say the boys did not come inside our house until 11 pm and they were only wearing their underwear/ diaper. All of the kids were having a great time running around and pouring water on themselves so we couldn't break up the fun. I did get a little worried when a Sheriff drove by. Luckily, he was just patrolling the area and didn't stop and see the little ones running around in their underwear. All of the cul-de-sac kids are going to have a blast growing up together and I'm so thankful for that. Hopefully, I can get copies of some of the pictures that were taken that night.
Both of the boys did great staying up that late but I was really impressed with Wade. A huge portion of the night he rode the boys tricycle. He was able to maneuver it all around and had a great time doing it. He has gotten to be really funny too. He copies every little thing that William does now. He even wants to sit on the potty when he sees William using the potty. However, he realizes that he is not tall enough to stand and pee so he pulls out the little "potty seat" so he can sit down. I don't think he has ever peed but he gets so proud of himself sitting up there that I can't tell him no. I'm not going to start potty training him any time soon but hopefully he will get comfortable with the potty in the meantime. Wade is also getting faster. It's so cute to watch his little legs run as fast as they can in order to keep up with the bigger kids. Even though William and Wade get along and play great (most of the time), it is safe to say that they are completely opposite. For example, today for lunch the boys had fish sticks and green beans. Wade really just ate his fish sticks and William only ate his green beans.
The boys always want to lay with Katie during tummy time. I had to snap this picture of my two cloth diapered cuties.
Cloth diapering a newborn is a new thing for me. It's nice not having to go to the store every week in order to buy new diapers but they have been a lot of work. Instead of washing diapers every other day, I have had to wash diapers everyday. Katie's poops are starting to slow down a little so I'm hoping to go back to every other day again soon. I have been really impressed with the cloth diapers though. They have only leaked when I left the diaper on for too long. She is also able to go all night without a diaper change while wearing a "night time" cloth diaper. The regular diaper leaked every time I tried not to change her diaper in the middle of the night. Her diaper rash has also completely gone away with cloth diapers. We were having to put diaper cream on her all the time while wearing disposable diapers.
